Truth and Reconciliation

Often times, despite having the PERBSTEC editorial program, TwCN focus is directed by its readers. After publishing TwCN, June 6, 2024 edition, I received a response which simply said “And the crazy one asked: What is truth?” I never want it to be my habit to brush aside people’s questions. In fact, I have made it part of my mission to address questions. In my quest to know the truth, I have developed a philosophy whereby I challenge people by saying “Matters of faith mean much when our questions are answered. Please ask your question. And it can be any question under the sun.”

I did give a cursory answer to the TwCN reader. I said, “No, it was Pilate who asked Jesus the question ‘what is truth?’ I maintained that Pilate was not crazy although I perceived the reader did not quite agree.

Jesus did not answer Pilate. I think because Pilate was at the time gazing at the truth. Here is what Jesus said about himself.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” John 14:6. If there is absolute truth in the world, which indeed there is, that truth is Jesus Christ.

Any genuine intellectual would not anyhow dismiss what they hear. Rather they are driven to research and learn more about what they hear. At TwCN we did just that looking deeply into the idea of truth. We challenged Jesus asking him, tell us more! What do you mean when you say you are the truth. And what we discovered is humbling.

You know how we have heard and seen in Europe and North America, how the Ten Commandments have been removed from legislative buildings and public offices and learning institutions! What we discovered astounded TwCN. Apparently the Ten Commandments of the Bible is the Truth. Listen to Psalm 119:142, “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.” How does one explain this? The Law of God is the Truth.

Jesus is described by the scriptures as having lived life without sin. He being the truth lived life that was consistent with another truth, the law of God. In one of his conversations with the Father he asked the Father saying “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth,” John 17:17. In this conversation Jesus Christ identified another truth namely the word of God for time immemorial packaged and published as the Bible.

Truth, therefore is absolute, and refers to Jesus Christ, His Law and His Word.

In the daily use of the word truth, what people have in mind is actually facts. For instance, the case of “Truth and Reconciliation” that took place first in South Africa and secondly in Canada. Commissions that were created and hearings that were conducted aimed to unearth facts about Apartheid in South Africa and facts about Residential Schools and colonization in Canada. And many facts were unearthed in both countries that led to developing recommendations to ensure reconciliation between races. Reconciliation between Europeans and Africans in South Africa and Europeans and North Americans in Canada.

The only disappointing fact is that the two commissions failed to define the truth in their recommendations. The truth that I believe would bring true freedom of the races and healing between the races. After people have the facts about the evils of apartheid and the evils of residential schools and colonization, what can you really give them to help them forgive and heal and start progressing in their lives? Most people mistakenly think that it is billions of dollars or an apology from the papacy. Neither I nor members of my team at TwCN believe that billions of dollars or an apology from the papacy will bring about real forgiveness and healing.

In another conversation with his audience, Jesus Christ taught saying, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” John 8:32. What kind of truth was Jesus speaking about? Believe you me, Christ was speaking about the absolute truth comprising Himself, the Law of God and the Word of God. Africans and aboriginal peoples everywhere have been hurt and damaged by colonization. The only source of hope for complete healing is the Truth. Moreover, through the Truth Africans and Aboriginal peoples are supposed to be reconciled to God.

The great apostle Paul admonishes us saying “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation,” 2 Corinthians 5:18.

This is the ultimate reconciliation that is needed and recommended for African and Aboriginal peoples. You will learn, understand and appreciate this reconciliation when you study the Bible and follow what the Bible says (not what deceived clerics tell you). Remember the Bible is the word of God, therefore it is the Truth, and reveals further Truths as given in Jesus Christ and the Law of God.

As Africans and Aboriginal peoples of this world, our enemies don’t want us to know this Truth. Instead they have devised fables, not encouraged us to think for ourselves, but encouraged and prayed that we believe the fables they have presented to us. And as long as we feast on their fables we remain at the bottom of human enlightenment.

But learning the Truth, embracing the Truth and living the Truth, elevates us and puts us on top of human enlightenment, and very close to God by the way. We get connected to the true God, the creator of heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters and in us will be fulfilled such scriptures as Revelation 14:7 “Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”

By the way the hour of his judgment is good news! It is the time that God is going to show his mercy, met his justice and vindicate his people, including the hurt and damaged Africans and Aboriginal peoples of the world. Much love, Brethren! TwCN.
